IMEX America, meeting industry trade show held last week in Las Vegas closed with record numbers. Among 3.250 exhibitors from 139 countries were for the first time ever also representatives of Conventa who conducted around 40 meetings with some of the top worldwide buyers and meeting providers.
The show recorded a record turnout. Last week at the Sands Expo and Convention Center at The Venetian in Las Vegas, 3.250 exhibitors met with the more-than 3.000 hosted buyers. There were more than 60.000 individual appointments, while group appointments accounted for another 10.000 meetings between buyers and sellers on the show floor this year. The show also offered a record of 269 educational sessions including a new opening forum for senior planners.
The meetings offer of a wider South East European region was represented by a sister trade show Conventa. Due to the great interest shown for the South-European region and the emerging countries of New Europe by some of the top worldwide buyers, Conventa’s organizers opened 5 hosted buyer spots for the show in 2017 to meeting planners coming from America.
Three things about Slovenia that’s very easy, the most friendly people that you can imagine. Wonderful nature, we’ve been out here hiking in the mountains and along the lakes and going down the river and now I’ve discovered Ljubljana as one little jewel box. This is really a boutique destination and we’re selling it hard.

The first has to be the people obviously, fantastic, down to earth, friendly people. Second is the landscape as you fly into Ljubljana airport you see the forests and the mountains all around you, you can’t beat it and the third is probably the little town of Bled, which if you haven’t been you should go to, it’s absolutely stunning.
